Retro Post

I see that I totally forgot or was swamped with tasks and never posted this adventure at Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. These pictures are at the Green Valley Falls campground.

Rebekah wasn't very happy about falling in (yes, this is a common theme running through most of our adventures: one (or more) of our children falling in the water)

Second fun-filled day in New York

by MADCookie 7. May 2006 06:28
For our second day in New York, we decided to head into the City. We took the subway to Manhattan. First stop, Central Park!

Coronado Bound

by MADCookie 7. May 2006 06:14
The girls and I went to Coronado and rented a bike to ride around. It was a nice cool day, but I worked up quite a sweat pedaling these girls around.

The beach has very gentle waves because we were on the bay side of Coronado. Rebekah chased the birds around while Joanna watched and occasionally played in the sand.

San Diego Adamses visit Wild Animal Park

by MADCookie 6. May 2006 06:32
We went to the Wild Animal Park to "celebrate" Rebekah losing her first tooth

It really wasn't hot outside, but the girls said they wanted to go into the water area to play. When they got in there, they were a little upset they kept getting wet. Strange how that works.

First Full Day in New York

by MADCookie 6. May 2006 06:19
The following captions were written by a ghost writer (ok, it's really Les)

Jaime is thrilled to have her Sissa & nephew to visit! (this is in front of her house, as we're leaving for a picnic upstate)

Even Nakey gets to come along for the ride!

Enjoying the Palisades in New Jersey. It was a GORGEOUS stopping-off point. Who knew New Jersey was so beautiful?!!

Elijah isn't so fond of dogs, but he really took to Nakey. I was very surprised that he even asked to walk him!

We found a great picnic site at Bear Mountain (back in NY State)

Silly auntie, nephew & niece! (And check out the miles of green forest behind them--amazing!)

Mark the adventurer makes it across the stepping stones to the little island--what a man!

I was continually amazed at the landscape & scenery (yes, that's a deer; one of several that we saw). When I think "New York", this is nothing like what my mind imagines! It was a great experience, and I'm so glad that Elijah got to make this trip; I hope he'll remember it for the rest of his life!
