Oceanside Beach

by MADCookie 26. April 2009 01:45
We're off to a meet-up. We drove up to Oceanside to meet another Sonlight family that was visiting from Washington.
Stinky feet. This beach was really neat as it had a play ground right on the sand. Great idea!

Rebekah took over an already started hole. Mike helped her to create the surrounding towers.

Elijah was busy building wave breaks to protect a different castle not pictured.

Remember Rebekah's hole in the sand? She is in it now.

Elijah is not much into using the board. He just jumps with the wave to body surf it.

Joanna & Rachel, on the other hand, just jump over the waves

Gravity

by MADCookie 25. April 2009 00:59
What comes up must come down, right? Well, unfortunately that is true of cabinets when they are not installed correctly. Mike thought he had them in securely, but when he was installing the doors, the very last cabinet began to wobble and then fall off the wall.

That is a nickle size hole from the dry wall mounting screw that did not enage

After a great suggestion from Jason, Mike took down the cabinets and then installed a 1x2 cross beam over the studs.

The Ikea Effektiv cabinets were re-mounted, but this time they were mounted to the cross beams.

Playing with dinner

by MADCookie 17. April 2009 15:14

While Leslie and the kids were in LA, Mike thought he would play with making dinner. Check out the story at his cooking blog site.
