Leslie left Mike in Austin & took the kids went to meet her cousin Summer & her boys. First they went to Aquarena Springs in San Marcos, which was a fun little place for a picnic & walk along the spring-fed lake.

Then we went to San Antonio to "Remember the Alamo!"

Traci was a good sport, and hosted a Sonlight meetup at her house, in a bid to beat the Chicagolanders (it was a tie!). From left to right:  Jerin, Maura, Traci, Les, Mike and Amy.

Elizabeth & Leslie took the kids to the Waco Zoo. It's not even a quarter the size of the San Diego Zoo, but they make great use of the space, and it's a very guest-friendly zoo!

 We had a great time with the Gonzalezes - we've missed them since they left San Diego a year ago!

Rachel still refuses to abide our "2 normal, 1 silly face" rule when it comes to taking pix!

While staying with the Gonzalezes, Mike & Elizabeth made PW Chocolate Sheet Cake.

The kids lined up for some of the scrumptiousness!

It was time to head on to Texas. As we left D'nece's house, we snapped a few shots of area where Hurricane Katrina's damage still shows up.











We didn't picture this, but Long Beach contracted an artist to carve various wooden works of art out of the dead Oak stumps.
